Call for Applications: Online Research Internship with the AIT-RRC.AP Climate Change Cluster

The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific
(RRC.AP) at the Asian Institute of Technology is recruiting up to eight
home-based student research interns to support the climate change
cluster in compiling a Climate Factsheet for countries in the
Asia-Pacific Region. The RRC.AP works to strengthen the capacity of
stakeholders in the region to access climate finance. This includes
support to Direct Access Entities (DAEs), National Designated
Authorities (NDAs), and project developers seeking financing from the
Green Climate Fund (GCF) to develop bankable Concept Notes. This
research internship is intended to result in a user-friendly Climate
Factsheet to support project developers build a strong evidence-base as
required by climate financiers like the GCF.
Under the supervision of the CCC team, interns will prepare a detailed Climate Factsheet for Climate Change Project Planning for countries in the Asia (including Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines) and in the Pacific (including Federated States of Micronesia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, and Republic of Marshall Islands). Climate Factsheet for each country should include information on Geography, People, Climate (Global and Regional Climate Change), Future Climate Projections, Impacts of Climate Change, Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change and References. The detail guidelines on gathering above information will be provided to selected candidates.
- Master Degree (in progress) in Climate Change, Natural Resource Management or any other related field, currently enrolled as a student at the Asian Institute of Technology
- Understanding of climate change and sustainable issues (in Asia and Pacific).
- High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience working or studying in a multicultural environment.
- Language competencies in a regional language (including Khmer, Lao, Malay, Bahasa-Indonesia, Polynesian, Marshallese) are beneficial.
Please note that this is an unpaid position. Student research interns will be given a certificate indicating their contribution to the RRC.AP.
