A wealth of knowledge exists in the region on different aspects of eco-housing, many of which are an integral part of indigenous practice. The project aims to collate best practices on eco-housing, regionally and globally. This information, along with the expertise of the regional panel, will assist in preparation and implementation of demonstration projects. The projects are essential for better understanding and creation of new eco-housing design principles.
Generic Design Guidelines
One of the major outputs of this project are to prepare Eco-housing Design
Guidelines tailored to specific geographic and climatic conditions. So
far, the expert team has prepared guideslines for tropical climate zones.
Guidelines for other climatic zones are in the pipeline.
